My name is Michael Carver. I would like to tell you how much I have enjoyed your well presented and informative site.
One year ago I had not even heard of Norton Disney, then I started to research my family history and found that my gt gt grandfather William Thomas Carver was born in Swinderby in 1852 and his mother Sarah Hawdin was born in Norton Disney in 1817.
Earlier this year I came down ( from south Yorkshire ) and cycled around North Collingham Norton Disney and Swinderby. I must admit it is a beautiful part of the country. I found quite a few Hawdin's in the grave yard at Norton Disney including a Thomas Hawdin 1775 to 1844 and I am sure he was Sarah's father.
Recently I was looking at a map of the area and noticed a Hawdin's wood and I wondered it there was a connection to the Hawdin's In the grave yard ?? .
Anyway enough waffle about my family tree
