Estate Dinner

NORTON DISNEY- On Saturday evening, Jan 9th, the tenant farmers of Norton Disney estate were the recipients of a dinner given by Mr. T. K. Wilson. Of Stumperlow Hall, Sheffield, the present shooting tenant of the above estate. At six o'clock the company,  numbering about 20. sat down to a splendid repast supplied by Mrs. Tustin, the Hostess of the Sportsman Inn, to which the merry party did ample justice. After the cloth was drawn the chairman, Mr. J. Wass, in a few well chosen remarks, proposed the health of Mr. Wilson, which was received with acclamation. Mr. F. Clark, of Newark, who was present as the guest of Mr. Horrell (the head-keeper), greatly amused the company with some capital songs: Messrs. J. Wass, G. Martin, W. Tustin and G. Tustin also added to the harmony of the evening. Toasts to Mr. Horrell and to the Hostess for her excellent catering were drank in the good old English style. The singing of the National Anthem brought to a close a most enjoyable evening, everyone present expressing themselves highly satisfied with the proceedings.
